ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistani police say a bomb has exploded outside a district police headquarters in the country’s northwest, killing one passer-by and wounding two others.

Police official Rafique Khan says the explosion on Friday happened in the town of Lakki Marwat, about 110 miles (175 kilometers) south of the city of Peshawar.

Khan says the wounded are local residents, but the dead passer-by has yet to be identified.

Islamic militants often target government offices, especially police stations in Pakistan’s restive northwest near the Afghanistan border.
