NORTH BONNEVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say a Skamania County, Wash., search for a Gresham, Ore., man has been suspended.

Skamania County Undersheriff Dave Cox and Gresham police Sgt. Rick Wilson said Thursday night that 42-year-old David Mekvold remains missing.

Mekvold’s pickup truck was found Monday night on a gravel road near Beacon Rock State Park in the Columbia River Gorge.

Gresham police say the man was reported missing on Monday by his wife after he failed to come home from work.

Washington searchers began combing the area near Beacon Rock on Tuesday.

The Columbian says Skamania County sheriff’s officers have now turned the case back to Gresham police.
