ST. HELENS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say a large commercial truck hit several cows Friday night on Oregon Highway 30 north of St. Helens, creating a hazard that temporarily closed the road.

KGW-TV says the tanker was carrying 3,500 gallons of fuel, which began leaking after the crash.

State police dispatchers say as many as four cows were hit, possibly fatally injured. The truck driver’s status wasn’t immediately known.
