Fire injured a woman and damaged a unit in a fourplex apartment complex in the Fourth Plain Village neighborhood early Friday evening.

The fire was reported at 5:34 p.m. at 3815 Hazelwood Drive, according to the Vancouver Fire Department. One unit was fully involved when firefighters arrived about five minutes later, and the fire was spreading to the attic.

The fire was brought under control at 6 p.m., said Vancouver Fire Capt. Chris Moen. Damage was limited mostly to only one of the four units.

No occupants were reported inside the building when firefighters arrived, but a woman who had been inside the unit when the fire broke out was transported to the hospital with burns on her hand. Moen said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
