WEATHERBY, Ore. (AP) — A freight train running on tracks along Interstate 84 in Eastern Oregon derailed, and authorities shut down the highway between Baker City and Ontario for a few hours.

No injuries were reported.

The freight cars were westbound near Weatherby, Ore., when they derailed about noon Friday.

Nearly four hours later, authorities said they had reopened the interstate in both directions.

The cars that derailed were open-top gondola cars. A Union Pacific spokesman says such cars usually carry rock, gravel and cement.
