What’s open and what’s closed today and New Year’s Day:
• GARBAGE: Waste Connections, which serves most of Clark County, will operate on its regular schedule today. In Camas, normal Friday service will be performed Monday.
• MAIL: Regular home delivery today; no delivery Saturday except for Express Mail. Most post offices close at noon today, reopening on Monday. The main post office at 2700 Caples Road is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. The postal unit inside the Shell gas station at Fisher’s Landing, 16320 S.E. Cascade Park Drive, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
• PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Classes resume Monday.
• COLLEGES: Classes resume at Clark College on Monday, and at Washington State University Vancouver on Jan. 10.
• PUBLIC LIBRARIES: Fort Vancouver Regional Library branches with evening hours will close at 6 p.m. today, except for Ridgefield and Stevenson, which close at 5 p.m. All are closed on Saturday. Camas Public Library closed today and Saturday.
• BUSES: C-Tran buses follow reduced schedule today and Sunday schedule on Saturday. Today TriMet buses will follow regular schedule; MAX will operate late-night service. All TriMet service is free after 8 p.m. On Saturday, TriMet will operate on the Sunday schedule.
• GOVERNMENT: Federal, state, county and city offices closed today.
• PARKING: Meters in downtown Vancouver free today.
• BANKS: Most banks open regular hours today; closed Saturday.
• FINANCIAL MARKETS: New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq and other markets open today.
• DRIVER LICENSING: Offices normally open Mon.-Fri. will be closed today; offices normally open Tues.-Sat. will be closed Saturday.
• VEHICLE LICENSING: Offices closed today and Saturday.
• EMISSIONS TESTING: Stations open today; closed Saturday.
• LIQUOR STORES: State-operated stores open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today; closed Saturday. Some contract liquor stores may be open both days.
• SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON BLOOD CENTER: 9320 N.E. Vancouver Mall Drive, Suite 100, Vancouver, open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today; closed Saturday.
• ANIMAL SHELTER: Humane Society for Southwest Washington shelter open today; closed Saturday.
• CLARK COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM: Open today; closed Saturday.
• FORT VANCOUVER NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE: Visitor center and fort closed today and Saturday.
• FIRSTENBURG COMMUNITY CENTER: Open 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today; closed Saturday.
• MARSHALL COMMUNITY CENTER: Open 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today; closed Saturday.
• ZOO: Oregon Zoo open today and Saturday.
• WESTFIELD VANCOUVER MALL: Mall hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Saturday. Sears will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Saturday; J.C. Penney will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Saturday; Macy’s will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
