Clark County Fire District 3 awarded FEMA grant
Friday, February 5, 2010
Vancouver, WA Clark County Fire District 3 announced Friday a more than $31,000 Federal Emergency Management Agency grant to purchase curriculum and other materials required to meet state and federally-mandated training requirements.
The department expects the grant to reduce operational costs and increase firefighter safety.
The $31,414 grant will be used to purchase instructor training aids and update curriculum to satisfy National Fire Protection certification requirements.
"This grant will greatly help improve our training program. Firefighters are our most valuable asset, and preparing them for the job is one of our greatest challenges," Fire Chief Steve Wrightson said in a press release.
