Blazer games available live with new Internet service

The Portland Trail Blazers franchise has launched a service that streams Blazers games live over the Internet. Fans within a 150-mile radius of Portland can subscribe to the service, which provides a live feed of Blazers games in high definition over a broadband connection.

The webcast will feature KGW’s broadcast augmented by real-time stats, live blog commentary, fan feedback and more. The team’s 15-game package is available for $39.99 or fans can buy access for $3.99 per game. The first game available through the service is today’s against the Houston Rockets.

Fans will not yet have access to all of the Blazers games online, though the team is in negotiations with Comcast to bring its entire Sports Net Northwest cable package online. The team expects to provide those games online in partnership with Comcast starting Jan. 1.
