First Independent bank has reorganized its retail business and appointed Renee Newman to lead the new organization. She was promoted to senior vice president and director of retail banking and is responsible for the branch network, virtual banking, community banking for small business owners and client services.

Maia Eggleston of Vancouver is a new consultant with Tastefully Simple, a direct sales company. Eggleston will offer food samples at in-home tasting parties, along with easy ideas for everyday meals, recipes and serving suggestions.

Christine Gorger has joined the accounting firm Vierck & Rakoski, 606 S.E. 117th Ave., Suite 100, Vancouver. Gorger will handle tax preparation, accounting and consulting for individual and corporate clients of the firm. She received her master’s of accountancy with a tax concentration from Gonzaga University.

Wells Fargo has hired Mark Eagleton of Portland as its private banking manager for Southwest Washington and Oregon. Eagleton will oversee a staff of 29 private bankers and other team members. He earned a degree in business finance from Kansas State University.

Other business news

The Management Group, which manages of residential real estate, has earned the Accredited Management Organization credential. Only 15 percent of management firms across the nation achieve this accreditation from the Institute of Real Estate Management. The Management Group currently employs 88 associates who manage more than 11,000 residential and commercial properties in Washington and Oregon.

Chris Stevens, owner of Northwest Shirts, 807 Grand Blvd., Vancouver, recently opened a retail store. Stevens has been designing and selling his original T-shirts in shops and at markets and fairs for four years. Stevens does all the screen printing in-house.
