Foreclosure rate down nearly 20% in January

Clark County — The foreclosure rate in Clark County retreated in January, according to data released Wednesday by California-based RealtyTrac. There were 318 foreclosure filings here last month, down nearly 20 percent from the same month last year, when 397 foreclosures were filed.

Out of Washington’s 39 counties, Clark County had the third-highest rate of foreclosure activity in January, with one out of every 511 households receiving a delinquency notice. Pierce County ranked No. 1, with one in every 497 homes in foreclosure. Snohomish County was No. 2.
