Clark County — Israeli women’s “Women of the Wall” equality movement is the subject of a film being shown by Congregation Kol Ami on Saturday.

“Praying In Her Own Voice” highlights the protest movement that brings women to the Wailing Wall, a holy site in Israel where women are not allowed to gather and pray. The film raises questions about the battle of the sexes in the Jewish religious world.

Rabbi Elizabeth Dunsker of Vancouver’s Congregation Kol Ami has participated in Women of the Wall prayers many times. “Each time I’ve joined with them, I leave with an even greater respect for the determination of the women who meet there every month to face violent assault in order to pray,” she said.

“Praying In Her Own Voice” will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday at Congregation Kol Ami, 1006-B N.E. 146th St. A $5 donation from nonmembers is requested. For more information, call 360-896-8088 or visit http://jewishvancouverusa.org.
