Garret Harper, a Vancouver industrial real estate broker, was named Top Producer of 2009 by his company, NAI Norris Beggs & Simpson Commercial Real Estate Services, at the firm’s annual awards banquet, held Jan. 30. Harper, who has worked for the company since 2003, was recognized for closing 28 transactions worth nearly $18 million in 2009, including a $5.5 million sale of 19 acres to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in east Vancouver. Harper has been promoted to associate vice president.

Lynn Oliver has been hired by the USDA Forest Service, Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, as the new land-use planner. Oliver comes from the Inyo National Forest in Bishop, Calif., where he was the minerals and geology program manager. He has master’s degrees in landscape architecture and geology.

Mark W. Bacon, a licensed CPA in Washington and Oregon, is a new shareholder of the firm, Caton, Day & Co., 1104 Main St., Suite 200, Vancouver. He has been in public accounting since 1980. Bacon lives in Vancouver.

MetLife Bank announced they hired John Pedemonte of Camas as a reverse mortgage consultant for the Southwest Washington region. Prior to joining MetLife Bank, Pedemonte worked as a reverse mortgage specialist at Central Pacific Bank in Honolulu, Hawaii, for two years.

Dina Kroshkin has been promoted to business loan officer at Columbia Credit Union in Vancouver. Kroshkin will develop business loans and deposits, primarily focusing on requests for up to $100,000, and Small Business Administration guaranteed loans. Kroshkin most recently served as a credit analyst in Columbia’s Business Lending department.

Deborah Weimer, who owns Once Upon a Child of Vancouver, received a Sales Excellence Award at the company’s annual conference and trade show Jan. 17 in Scottsdale, Ariz. The Vancouver store is at 11505 N.E. Fourth Plain Road, Suite D3. Once Upon a Child sells used and new children’s merchandise.

Diana Buelt, director of Clinical & Support Services at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, and Barney Speight, director of the Oregon Health Authority, have been appointed to serve three-year terms on the board of directors of the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington. The clinic’s mission is to provide and facilitate access to free, compassionate, quality health care for children and adults who are unable to access such services.

Dr. Susan Hughes, who owns Transformations Spa MD — who recently won an American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award — was admitted to the American Academy of Cosmetic Family Medicine and received certification in laser-assisted liposuction. Hughes’ spa, which offers noninvasive, nonsurgical skin rejuvenation, medical aesthetic services and weight-loss programs, has moved into a larger facility at 650 N. Quantum Residential, a local multifamily property management firm, has recently relocated its headquarters to the former downtown branch of iQ Credit Union at 601 E. 16th St., Vancouver. After Quantum acquired the office building, they began an extensive remodel and expansion of the building.

Partydancerz, a local professional dance team, is available for hire for business presentations, birthdays, weddings and dance events.
