OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — A plan to let the University of Washington, Washington State University and Western Washington University set their own tuition was the subject of a state House committee hearing on Tuesday in Olympia.

However, the state House Higher Education Committee did not vote on the bill and has not scheduled a vote. The Senate earlier approved the measure.

Without the bill, the Legislature will continue to set tuition for the state’s public universities.

____

The measure is Senate Bill 6562.
