Higher education official to visit WSUV

The leader of the state’s Higher Education Coordinating Board, which sets policy for all Washington public four-year colleges and universities, is coming to Washington State University Vancouver.

Executive Director Ann Daley will present “System Design: A Road Map for Higher Education in Washington” at 11:45 a.m. March 5.

Her appearance in the Firstenburg Student Commons is part of WSUV’s Chancellor’s Seminar Series.

The HEC Board has been charged by state legislators to propose cost-effective ways to meet goals of increasing college graduates and making college more accessible to a diverse population during tough budget times.

Daley will share background on the system design to achieve those goals, and describe recommendations from the higher ed community.

The Seminar Series is open to the public. There is a $25 charge for tickets, which include the lecture, lunch and parking. For tickets call 360-546-9580.
