The Clark College baseball program played its first spring games since 1992 on Saturday, and it picked a difficult opponent.

Defending NWAACC champion Bellevue swept the Penguins club team in a doubleheader at Clark College, 13-1 and 3-0.

The only run for Clark was scored in the game that was a no-hitter.

In that first game, Bellevue jumped out to a 6-0 lead and cruised from there.

Clark got on the board in the eighth inning. Camas High School graduate Kyle Brumfield walked, advanced to second and third on wild pitches, and came home on Kyle Green’s groundout.

In the second game, Union High grad Brandon Brown went the distance on the mound for Clark. He threw 103 pitches over nine innings, allowing three runs on six hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

Camas grad Austin Osbourne was 2 for 4, and Prairie grad Jackson Stellfox was 1 for 3.

The Penguins host the club team from Seattle University in a doubleheader at noon today.
