TUALATIN, Ore. — Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who is recovering from a left ankle sprain, could miss his team’s next couple games.

Aldridge is listed as doubtful for today’s contest against the Golden State Warriors at the Rose Garden, the team said. His status was downgraded from questionable.

“L.A. might be out a couple games,” Blazers guard Brandon Roy said Friday, following a morning practice at the team’s workout facility.

Aldridge injured his ankle during the first quarter of Portland’s home victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

Aldridge used a crutch and wore a protective boot while walking Thursday, Blazers athletic trainer Jay Jensen said. But the Portland forward, who was held out of practice, was able to move around without either Friday.

“He’s improving,” Jensen said.

He added: “He’s doing fine for two days off. So, we’ll see how he is in the next couple days.”

Aldridge underwent aqua-therapy treatment Friday. Jensen said the forward will go through a rehabilitation progression that includes using a therapeutic pool and treadmill, and will then take the court when he is able to put weight on his foot.

“When he will play again is kind of up to LaMarcus,” Jensen said.
