MILL CREEK, Wash. (AP) — Police say an officer in Mill Creek shot at a man after a chase, but no one was hit.

The incident happened Friday night in the town southeast of Everett, when a vehicle failed to stop for a traffic violation. Police spokesman Sgt. Robert Goetz says several police cars chased the vehicle on State Route 527. The pursuit ended on Interstate 5 when an officer pushed his vehicle into the fleeing vehicle, causing the driver to lose control.

Goetz says one of the Mill Creek officers fired his gun at the 52-year-old driver, but no one was hit. He says the man was taken to an Everett hospital for injuries he received while fighting with officers.

The police officer has been placed on administrative leave, standard in such situations.
