Because of the economic slowdown some projects on the drawing board for Clark County have been moving more slowly toward construction or have been put on hold.

County’s 2010 construction outlook

Below are some of those projects:

Vancouver waterfront redevelopment

• Scope: Transform a former mill property into 20 city blocks to be developable by private interests, with one block set aside as a public park. Master plans for the site include 3,300 residential units, 253,000 square feet of retail space, 1.1 million square feet of office space and 160 hotel rooms.

• Cost: $1.2 billion.

• Location: A 33-acre Columbia River waterfront tract.

• Developers: Columbia Waterfront LLC led by Gramor Development Corp.

• Timeline: Master plans received approval from the city council in December for development that could start in 2012 and continue for the next 20 years.

Library Square (formerly called Riverwest)

• Scope: A mixed-use downtown project with underground parking that will include retail, office, a hotel and residential components designed around the new downtown library building.

• Cost: $170 million.

• Location: Southeast corner of Evergreen Boulevard and C Street.

• Developer: Killian Pacific, Vancouver.

• Timeline: Work could begin as the library project is completed in mid-2011.

Clark College STEM Building

• Scope: A 70,000-square-foot building to house college science, technology engineering and math courses.

• Cost: $36.4 million.

• Location: On the northwest side of the main campus at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way.

• Developer: Clark College.

• Timeline: Scheduled to receive construction funding within the next three years and open in 2013.

Southwest Washington Medical Center (east side clinic)

• Scope: A 95,000-square-foot medical office building.

• Cost: $26 million for core and shell construction.

• Location: A 12-acre site at the southeast corner of Southeast First Street and Southeast 192nd Avenue.

• Developer: Southwest Washington Medical Center.
