EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A Eugene woman last seen leaving her home on Dec. 28 has been found dead near the spot where her vehicle was found unoccupied near Oregon 126 between Walton and Mapleton.

Searchers found Cindie Kogle’s body Tuesday evening in the area where her Nissan Pathfinder was found Jan. 2.

The Oregonian reports that the cause and manner of death await a medical examiner’s investigation.

Lane County search and rescue coordinator John Miller earlier told The Register-Guard that the 41-year-old woman had lived in the Eugene area for at least five years. She spent Christmas with relatives in the Portland area.
