HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) — A 32-year-old Beaverton man who had been charged with murder in the death of his baby daughter pleaded guilty to manslaughter in a plea agreement.
Eber Gramajo continues insists he did not kill the girl last May. He was caring for the baby when it suffered a fatal head injury.
Gramajo complained Tuesday that his attorney hadn’t represented him well, and he couldn’t afford a more expensive lawyer.
The plea agreement calls for him to spend 20 years in prison. He will be deported to Guatemala after finishing the sentence.
