Man ticketed in two-car crash
Wednesday, January 6, 2010
Vancouver, WA A Vancouver man was ticketed for allegedly running a red light, and failing to make sure a child passenger was wearing a safety restraint, Tuesday night after a two-vehicle crash on state Highway 500.
Two girls who’d been riding in 76-year-old Ronald E. Neal’s 1983 GMC pickup were taken to Southwest Washington Medical Center, according to a bulletin from Trooper Liksakov with the Washington State Patrol.
About 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, the bulletin said, Donald D. Stewart, 61, of Grandview was headed east in a 2002 Toyota Highlander, in the left-turn lane at Northeast 54th Avenue.
Troopers said Stewart began turning left with a green arrow and was hit by Neal, who had been westbound in the truck and ran the red light, the bulletin said.
Neal and Stewart were not reported injured.
Two girls riding in Neal’s truck, Michae Langmes, 14, and Annalee Langmes, 10, both of Vancouver, were taken to the medical center as a precaution. They no longer were listed as patients there late Tuesday, a hospital employee said.
Both vehicles were totaled, the bulletin said.
