CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say a man wanted in Washington state on attempted murder and burglary offenses is now in custody in Arizona.

Authorities say 49-year-old Edward Mark Olsen is being held in the Maricopa County Fourth Avenue Jail in Phoenix and is awaiting extradition to Washington.

They say Olsen called Chandler police on Friday night from a convenience store pay phone and said he was ready to turn himself in after being on the run for six weeks.

Olsen is accused of breaking into the Bainbridge Island home of his ex-girlfriend and dousing the 39-year-old woman and her 12-year-old son with lighter fluid before threatening to set them on fire on Nov. 29.

Chandler police say Olsen was tracked through evidence as being in Florida, Nevada and California before reaching Arizona. He was released from a California prison in October.
