BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho woman convicted of felony injury to a child for helping her husband torment their three children was ordered to serve at least three years in prison.
District Judge Bradly Ford sentenced Kaylynn Gaunavinaka (gahn-AH’-veen-ah-kha) on Monday, retaining jurisdiction until the 35-year-old spends six months in prison, after which she could be released on probation.
Gaunavinaka was accused of helping her then-husband, Kekoa Glenn Gaunavinaka, abuse their three adopted children for seven years. Prosecutors say she threatened the kids, now ages 9 to 13, and covered their bruises with makeup.
The father was convicted of molesting a young girl in November and pleaded guilty in a separate case to injuring his two sons. He is to be sentenced on all three charges Feb. 11.
