EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A Springfield man who killed his father has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Adam Clark, who turns 29 later this month, accepted a plea deal shortly before his trial was scheduled to start.
Clark shot 63-year-old Gregory Clark on Feb. 17, and the father died the following day.
Adam Clark’s mother, Barbara Clark, spoke at Monday’s sentencing. She said her husband was abusive and believes that’s why her son shot him.
