Port of Vancouver board mulls expansion

The Port of Vancouver Commission on Tuesday discussed the possibility of expanding the three-member board to include five commissioners but took no action on the matter.

Commission president Jerry Oliver, who raised the proposal in a December meeting, told his fellow commissioners this week that he still plans to pursue the expansion. Commissioner Nancy Baker voiced her opposition to the proposal while Commissioner Brian Wolfe indicated he might support it.

Port officials estimate that adding two positions to the commission would cost about $100,000 per year.
