Firefighters credited an unidentified cell phone user with saving a life this morning by reporting flames on the roof of a mobile home.

Armed with the information, Clark County Fire District 3 responded swiftly, waking the home’s resident and getting her out of the burning structure safely.

The Vancouver Fire Department and Clark County Fire and Rescue also responded to the blaze at Country Manor Mobile Villa, 15619 N.E. Caples Rd., in Brush Prairie.

“The cell phone caller can be credited with saving the residents life, without her quick reaction and calling 911 the out come could have been much worse,” according to a press release from Fire District 3.

The fire was reported at 12:20 a.m.

By 12:50 a.m., the resident, who had been asleep, was out of the house and firefighters had the fire contained.

The cell phone caller’s name may have been Marina, according to the report.

The resident, who was not identified in the release, had two cats. One was found in good health, the other remains missing.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

American Medical Response and the Clark County Fire Marshall were also at the scene.
