NORWALK, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut authorities want to suspend the law license of an attorney who worked in both Bush administrations as he faces charges of trying to kill his wife because she wanted a divorce.
The state Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel filed papers Monday to suspend John Michael Farren’s license. It wants a trustee appointed to handle his clients’ cases.
Farren was arrested Jan. 6 in New Canaan on charges of attempted murder and strangulation.
A hearing date has not been set for the law license suspension. Farren is due in a Stamford court Jan. 21 for a hearing in his criminal case.
Farren was deputy White House counsel during George W. Bush’s second term and also worked in President George H.W. Bush’s administration.
