CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire health officials say four new test samples taken from the building where a woman contracted a rare form of anthrax have shown low levels of anthrax spores.

Public Health Director Jose Montero said Friday the samples were taken Jan. 7 from the first floor of the United Campus Ministry in Durham. He said more than 10 samples are inconclusive, possibly meaning that the level of contamination is so low it’s hard to detect.

Montero said the department is waiting for all test results before deciding on building cleaning plans and lifting a quarantine.

He said the woman who became ill with gastrointestinal anthrax in early December is still hospitalized. She’s in stable condition.
