PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A weekend crash on Highway 101 injured nine people, one of them critically.

The Oregon State Police says two cars collided head-on Saturday afternoon about five miles north of the Sea Lion Caves.

All nine people involved in the crash are from Eugene or Cottage Grove, and are between the ages of 17 and 25. Most suffered minor injuries, but the Register-Guard newspaper of Eugene reports that a University of Oregon student, 25-year-old David Chai, was in critical condition at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
