Kalispell attorney leads power council

KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — The Northwest Power and Conservation Council has elected a Montana attorney has its chairman for this year.

Bruce Measure, of Kalispell, is one of Montana’s two members on the council. Measure has been the council vice chairman for the last two years.

Measure says he’s honored to be elected chairman.

The council is made up of representatives from Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. It’s job is to protect and enhance fish and wildlife of the Columbia River Basin that have been impacted by federal hydropower dams, while also assuring the region has a reliable power supply.
