SEATTLE (AP) — Passenger rail service was ready to resume Thursday afternoon on tracks between Seattle and Everett that were hit Tuesday by a mudslide.

It was the third slide since Saturday to hit the Burlington Northern Santa Fe line near Mukilteo.

Freight trains can resume once the track is cleared, but Amtrak and Sounder commuter trains have to wait 48 hours.
