SEATTLE (AP) — State wildlife agents have trapped and killed a coyote in Seattle.

Sgt. Kim Chandler told KOMO News a large male was trapped Thursday night on private property.

Agents can’t say for sure whether it’s the same coyote that has been seen in the Magnolia neighborhood, threatening pets and refusing to back off when people tried to scare it away. A coyote grabbed and injured a small dog earlier this month.

Officials say the coyotes had lost their fear of humans.

Chandler says the department plans to keep traps in nearby Discovery Park to catch other coyotes that may still be in the area.
