TUKWILA, Wash. (AP) — Three people are under arrest after a King County Metro bus driver was beaten unconscious during an attack aboard her bus.

And two officers were treated for injuries after their patrol cars collided as they responded to the assault.

King County Sheriff’s spokesman John Urquhart said the bus attack happened early Saturday morning when about eight young people boarded the bus and some began punching and beating the 56-year-old driver.

Several officers responded to a 911 call from a passenger, but two of them crashed into each other. They were treated for minor injuries.

The bus driver was hospitalized but her condition was not available.

Police tracked down the group and arrested three teenagers in connection with the incident.
