CLARK COUNTY — Pressure-distribution septic systems in Clark County won’t have to be inspected more than once every two years, thanks to a state waiver.

An operation and maintenance inspection is still required within a year of installing a new pressure-distribution system, though.

Commissioner Tom Mielke had pushed for the change, which applies to 3,200 of the 31,000 known septic systems in Clark County, according to the county’s public health department.

Another 25,000 are simple gravity systems, which must be inspected only once every three years, except when a property has just been sold. About 2,800 are advanced systems that require annual inspection.
