KABUL (AP) — NATO forces say an explosion has hit near a U.S. military base in Afghanistan’s capital.

A spokesman for the international force, Lt. Nico Melendez, says the blast occurred in the vicinity of Camp Phoenix. He said no injuries were yet reported but did not have further details.

The head of Kabul’s criminal investigations unit said it was a strike by a suicide car bomber, but Abdul Ghafar Sayedzada said he did not know what the target was or if the blast had inflicted any casualties.
