SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Normal operations have resumed at the Oregon State Correctional Institution in Salem after authorities ordered a lockdown because of a fight in the prison yard.
The action was taken Sunday after more than 30 inmates got in the fight Saturday afternoon. Spokeswoman Jennifer Black says no one was seriously injured. An investigation continues, but no charges have been filed.
Black says normal operations, including inmate programs and the dining hall, resumed Monday. During the lockdown, inmates were kept in their cells 24 hours a day, including meals.
Visiting hours were canceled Sunday but will resume as scheduled Wednesday.
