CENTRALIA, Wash. (AP) — Police have a person of interest in the attempted robbery of a Centralia credit union where a police officer fired two shots.

A man with two gunshot wounds to an arm was arrested in a taxi Monday night in Olympia and is now at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

On Monday morning in Centralia police were called to the TwinStar credit union. An officer was met at the door by an employee who mouthed the words “He has a gun.” The officer pulled the woman to safety and fired at a man inside.

Police surrounded the building but when they went inside later in the morning they found the man had escaped out a window.

Police found blood on broken glass which could be used to identify a suspect.
