VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — Providence Health & Services plans to break ground this March on a $6.5 million, two-story clinic to provide primary health care services in east Clark County.

The clinic will be the second Clark County facility for Providence Medical Group within two years. It’s expected to open late this year.

Gary Walker is a spokesman for the Portland, Ore., branch of Providence Health & Services. He says 13 people, including three doctors, will staff the 14,000-square-foot clinic initially

Providence Health & Services has also opened primary care clinics in Wilsonville and Tigard, Ore.

Providence operates 26 hospitals and more than 35 nonacute facilities and physicians clinics, a health plan, a liberal arts university and a high school. It employs about 45,000 people in Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon and California.
