A local family continues to pray for the return of a missing Washougal man, but Jeanne Ratterman said she agrees that the effort at the ruins of a Haitian hotel “is now in disaster recovery mode.”
Her husband, Walt Ratterman, has been missing since the Jan. 12 earthquake collapsed the Hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince. Jeanne Ratterman noted in a Facebook entry Wednesday that the recovery is proceeding as methodically and carefully as a search-and-rescue operation; and if anyone is discovered alive, medical teams are still on site.
