WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — A New York man is accused of wheedling more than $150,000 from women he met through online dating sites.

The Westchester district attorney says Solomon Jesus Nasser of Ardsley was arraigned Thursday on charges of larceny, fraud, and tax crimes.

He is alleged to have targeted professional women on dating sites and lied about being wealthy and important.

The DA’s office says Nasser claimed he owned a jet, led forces in Iraq and advised President George W. Bush. It says he also claimed his money was frozen by court disputes and requested loans and that one woman gave him nearly $115,000 in cash and credit card purchases.

Nasser, who’s 57, was sent to jail after his arraignment. A call to Legal Aid, which represented him, was not immediately returned.
