SANDY, Ore. (AP) — Police say a gunman who robbed a US Bank branch in Sandy, Ore., on Thursday claimed to have a bomb and left behind a suspicious bag.
Sandy police Officer Jason Bickle says the Portland police bomb squad’s robot removed the bag, which was X-rayed and “disposed of” by bomb technicians.
Sandy police, the FBI and a Gresham police dog searched for the robber, who fled on a bicycle. No one was injured.
The bank is just a few buildings away from the Sandy Police Department.
