Tonya Harding and her now-husband “seemed very happy together,” when they obtained their marriage certificate, according to the deputy auditor who issued the license.
Harding, 39, and Joseph Jens Price, 42, both of Yacolt, were apparently married over the weekend, according to records housed at the Clark County Auditor’s office, 1300 Franklin St.
The couple’s certificate was issued Saturday, June 26. The auditor’s office received the signed license on Tuesday, signaling the union has been completed.
Pastor Lloyd Ward of the Community Church of God officiated the ceremony. Attempts to reach Ward were unsuccessful.
Karen Updike, a deputy auditor, said an apologetic Harding arrived at the Public Service Center before Price.
“She kept saying she was sorry he was late,” Updike said. “She was very nice, appreciative.”
Updike described Price, who arrived not long after Harding, as a “real nice, blue collar-type guy. They were a very nice couple.”
The couple list an address in Yacolt as their home.
Updike said her memories of Harding involve triple axels – all the rest, including her role in the 1994 attack on rival Nancy Kerrigan, are history, she said.
“She was a very talented skater,” Updike said.
