YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — Grant County health officials say seven cases of salmonella have been confirmed in people who attended the Sasquatch Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheater during Memorial Day weekend.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports that three cases came from the state and four others from British Columbia.

Health officials are investigating what may have carried the bacteria. Salmonella is a bacteria found in undercooked chicken or eggs, or foods contaminated by them. It can also spread by an ill person preparing food without proper hygiene. Symptoms include fever, cramps or diarrhea and typically start within 12 and 72 hours.

No cases of salmonella were reported from the Tom Petty concert a few weeks after Sasquatch. Food inspectors attended the Lilith Fair concert on Friday.
