Business name: Fusion Security.

Vancouver manager: Bill Doty. Owner operates a store in Centralia; Vancouver store is second location.

Address: 7704 N.E. 94th Ave.

What the business does: Fusion Security sells surveillance cameras for home and business use. The security company has a variety of cameras for outside use, some with infrared capabilities and some with low-light capabilities for inside use. Doty said camera images may be recorded to digital video recorders for viewing on the Internet and some types of cell phones. The security company also sells pepper spray and stun guns for personal protection.

How has the economy affected your business: Doty said because of the economy, people are buying cameras to watch their homes, cars and businesses. The original store is in Centralia and is very busy, and sales at the Vancouver are increasing.

Greatest challenge: Doty says the greatest challenge is promoting his location and offerings. He said another challenge is persuading people that they would benefit from a camera surveillance system.

What’s ahead: Doty anticipates the business will continue to grow, much like the company’s first store in Centralia has.
