DEPOE BAY, Ore. (AP) — A Depoe Bay, Ore., Fire District spokesman says a 52-year-old man was trapped under a recreational vehicle when the supports he was using to lift it for repairs collapsed. Even before fire crews could arrive Tuesday, neighbors at the Fogarty Creek RV Park jumped into action, raising the vehicle with hydraulic jacks to help the man breathe more easily.

Lt. Dennis Knudson says fire and rescue crews used high pressure air bags to lift the vehicle and free the man, who was taken to a hospital in Lincoln City.

Knudson says the extent of the man’s injuries was not immediately known.
