BASTAD, Sweden (AP) — Flavia Pennetta has breezed through to the second round of the Swedish Open with a straight-sets victory over Anna Brazhnikova.
Pennetta beat the wild card 6-2, 6-0 Tuesday as she chases a second title of the year.
Fourth-seeded Gisela Dulko took little more than an hour to beat another Swedish wild card, 16-year-old Ellen Allgurin, 6-1, 6-3.
Sweden has no players left in the singles competition after the country’s No. 1, Sofia Arvidsson, lost 6-2, 6-4 to unseeded Anna-Lena Groenefeld.
