BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) — ESPN is relocating its magazine staff from New York to Connecticut, moving about 125 jobs.

ESPN spokesman Mike Soltys says ESPN The Magazine will have its headquarters on the company’s Bristol campus by Sept. 1, 2011. He says the Disney-owned company wanted to consolidate its units that produce news and other content at one location.

ESPN’s television and Internet operations are already based in Connecticut, where it employs close to 4,000 people.

ESPN The Magazine has been in publication since 1998. Soltys says all magazine employees will be given the opportunity to move to Connecticut.
