Home-building activity surged in unincorporated Clark County in June, according to a report that tracks permits for single-family homes.
The county’s Department of Community Development issued 78 permits to build houses last month. It was a 73.3 percent increase over the 45 permits issued in the same month last year and 47 percent higher than the 53-permit total in June 2008.
The month’s housing permits were valued at $20.4 million, up from $8 million in the same month last year, the development department said.
