INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert injured his right knee this week while training with the Jamaican national team in the Dominican Republic.

The Pacers said Friday that the injury was believed to be minor and that Hibbert was traveling to Indianapolis to be examined by team doctors.

Hibbert is one of the team’s young building blocks, along with Danny Granger. He averaged 11.7 points and 5.7 rebounds a game last season in his second year in the NBA. He shot 50 percent from the field and started 69 of 81 games.

Pacers point guard A.J. Price suffered a knee injury in a charity game in New York in May.
