A four-vehicle accident early this afternoon injured four people and snarled traffic on East Mill Plain Boulevard in east Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. near the intersection of East Mill Plain Boulevard and Southeast 136th Avenue, said Vancouver fire spokesman Jim Flaherty. He said the crash happened in the eastbound lanes of Mill Plain and left one vehicle on its side.

Flaherty said a man and a woman suffered traumatic injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening and were transported to a local hospital. A woman and a girl suffered minor injuries.

Fire Capt. Chris Moen said the crash started west of Southeast 136th Avenue, carried through the intersection and ended east of 136th, according to Flaherty. No extrication was necessary.
